“Wherever you are, be all there.”
That is one of the things, I enjoy about concocting recipes & food photography. It pushes you into the now. You know that place, where life is happening … in real time. Instead of being in the past or future, you are simply taken into that very moment in time. I am not thinking about that embarrassing thing that happened yesterday or some far off future or some errand I have to run later that day. I am simply concentrating on the task on hand.
This mango date smoothie is my first post of the new year! Woo hoo. I am always looking to combine and mix up different flavors together. I actually crave flavor combinations. Recently, I have been using dates as substitutes for honey in smoothies and let me tell you it’s just as sweet! Now of course, if you find this smoothie a bit on the tart end you can sweeten it up with honey or any sweetener of your choice really. The combination of ginger, mint and turmeric is delicious combined with the tartness of the mangoes and the sweetness of the dates! A perfect addition to your “new year, new you” morning routine!
