“Learn how to push through the laziness, you’ll be glad you did”

Well, darn … I feel attacked. In all honesty, my motivation has been quite low lately and the succumbing to laziness is always an option. But there are days, I just have to push myself through those moments so I can come out on the other side. 2020 was a pivotal turning point for this blog. Traffic picked up tremendously around March of last year and somehow my motivation as the year went on started going downhill. I have to keep reminding myself, the gratitude I feel for all of the visitors that come and check out my recipes. All the hard work I have put into creating recipes, photographing recipes and simply just building and creating this blog … is coming to fruition! So that is when I remind myself this is why I do it and I get up and do it. I push through the laziness. Because on the other side of laziness, is something I enjoy.

One of my go to summer fruits is Watermelon and one of my go to flavor profiles is Rose. So it kinda just made sense to try the two out together right?? Well yeah, because this combination of frozen watermelon chunks, rosewater and rose syrup is a crowd pleaser!! There’s this refreshing, sweet, floral taste to this that is simply refreshing & satisfying! It truly feels like an indulgence.

I have a similar version of this recipe, I posted a while back … but this one uses only three ingredients. Yup, three ingredients and you have yourself a refreshing summer cooler! You can also easily substitute rose syrup here for agave or honey. Just keep in mind the rose syrup adds a certain rose flavor to this drink, so if you don’t have rose syrup just keep that in mind. Either way, you will enjoy this whether you use rose syrup, agave or honey.

Watermelon Rosewater Slushy

Servings 2

Ingredients

  • 1 12 oz package Frozen Watermelon Cubes from Pitaya foods or 3 cups frozen watermelon chunks
  • 3 tbsps rosewater
  • 3 tbsps rose syrup
  • 1-2 tsps agave optional depending on sweetness preference
  • 1/4 cup water start with 1 tbsp at a time see directions

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients together in a high speed blender until desired consistency. For a more watery drink add more water, for a more frozen treat add less water. I suggest starting with 2-3 tbsps of water at first and then add more depending on texture preferred. Also, feel free to add more or less sweetener depending on your preference. Agave adds a nice touch of sweetness with the rose syrup

Recipe Notes

  • Click here for the Pitaya foods package I used. I found it at Whole Foods. Feel free to use fresh watermelon if you can not find this package. Just make sure to freeze the watermelon chunks first before using.
  • You can find rose syrup as a local Indian grocery store, or on amazon.
  • Rosewater you can find in the international aisle in most grocery stores.
