Garlic Broccoli

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • 2 tbsps oil sesame oil but any will work
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ tsp hing
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp white onion diced
  • ½ cup soy sauce low sodium + 1 tbsp
  • 2 heads of fresh broccoli boiled for 3-4 minutes; drained from liquid see directions
  • ¼ cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1/4 cup bell peppers diced
  • 1 tsp siracha sauce according to preference
  • salt and pepper according to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat water in a large pot over medium heat. Add some salt to it. Once water comes to a boil, add in cleaned, washed and chopped broccoli. Let boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat. Drain from liquid and set aside.
  2. In a sauce pan, heat oil over medium heat, until it begins to sizzle. Add in minced garlic, hing, sesame seeds, dried oregano, garlic powder, red pepper flakes and dried parsley. Allow oil and spices to incorporate. Next add in onions and let simmer until onions golden slightly. Next add in soy sauce. Allow all ingredients to incorporate.
  3. Toss in broccoli, mushrooms and bell peppers. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add in 1 tbsp of soy sauce if sauce has evaporated. You can add in 1-2 tbsps according to preference. Add in siracha sauce, salt and pepper according to preference.
