Preheat oven to 350F.
Using a stand mixer or electric beater cream butter, light brown sugar, granulated sugar and maple syrup together on medium speed, until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Next add the egg and vanilla, mix until combined (be careful not to over mix).
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Add into creamed butter mixture and mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Fold in chocolate chips (you can do so by hand).
